Your degree won’t get you a job.

In 2026, a transcript is not a track record. Graduates are sitting at home. Junior roles are getting eaten by AI. The labour market changed. Education didn’t. You’re holding the bill.

1.

Three years sat in a room

You did the degree. Maybe two. You’ve got a transcript that says you sat in lectures. You don’t have anything that shows you can do the work.

2.

Junior roles are vanishing

The entry-level desk jobs your degree was meant to unlock are getting absorbed by AI. The employers who are hiring want operators, not order-takers.

3.

No-one taught you how to ship

School trained you to follow instructions. Work demands you find the task worth doing, scope it, ship it, and learn from what went wrong. That’s not on the syllabus.

10 weeks of real work inside a real business.

FutureXP gives you a sandbox to do work that matters, supported by mentors who’ve done it themselves, against a real partner organisation’s real challenge. You graduate with a CV, a portfolio, a network, and the operating habits of someone who can actually be hired.

Three pillars. One operator mindset.

Pillar 01
Mental Agility

Hold uncertainty. Change direction without losing momentum. Operate without a syllabus.

Pillar 02
Entrepreneurial Thinking

Spot opportunity, size it, validate it, pursue it. The mental model of an operator, not an employee.

Pillar 03 · New
AI Adoption

Use AI as a daily collaborator. Prompting, agentic workflows, judgement under AI output. The new literacy.

Same program. Your industry.

FutureXP runs vertical-specific cohorts. The methodology, the pillars, and the 10-week structure stay the same. The partner organisations you work with, the project briefs you tackle, and the mentor pool you draw from are matched to the industry you want to build a career in.

More tracks coming as partner organisations join the program. Don’t see your industry? Tell us in the application.

10 weeks. 10 levels.

Three weeks of foundational thinking. Five weeks of applied work inside a partner organisation. Two weeks of synthesis and showcase. Earn XP for completion, badges for mastery.

WK 01
Orientation & BHAG +100 XP
Meet your cohort. Meet your mentors. Meet the partner organisation you’ll spend the next nine weeks supporting. Receive your Big Hairy Audacious Goal: specific, measurable, outside your comfort zone.
WK 02
Mental Models +150 XP
Foundations of mental agility and entrepreneurial thinking. Customer-centric framing, problem-before-solution, the operator mindset. The thinking groundwork before you touch the work.
WK 03
AI Toolkit +200 XP
Prompting, agentic workflows, judgement under AI output. Build the fluency you’ll use every day for the rest of the program and the rest of your working life.
WK 04
Discovery +100 XP
Inside the partner organisation now. Understand the brief, the context, the customer. Who is this for? What do they actually need? What does success look like for the partner? Stand-up Friday.
WK 05
Prototype +100 XP
Sketch the solution. Wireframes, mockups, dry-run scripts, draft proposals. Whatever the minimum thing is that can be shown and reacted to before you build it for real. Cheap to throw away, expensive not to make.
WK 06
MVP Build +100 XP
Take the validated prototype and build the minimum viable version. Real artefact, real users, real chance of failing. Most participants ship something this week that didn’t exist a fortnight ago.
WK 07
Ship +100 XP
Get it in front of real users. The MVP goes live, the campaign goes out, the pitch gets sent. Done is better than perfect. Live work beats theoretical work, every time.
WK 08
Monitor & Review +100 XP
Watch what happens. What metrics moved? What did users actually do versus what you predicted? Read the data without flinching. Document what you see. Honest measurement is the skill most graduates don’t have.
WK 09
Pivot or Persevere +100 XP
The lean-startup decision point. Is the data telling you to keep going, or to change direction? Mentor session focused on this exact call. Productive failure is permitted. Failing without learning is not.
WK 10
Scale +100 XP
Take what’s working and push it. Wider audience, more channels, bigger numbers. Or, if you pivoted, run the same loop again on the new direction. This is the week you find out what you’re actually capable of.

It already ran three times.

FutureXP began with the backing of the Victorian Government and a single remit: give young people the real-world experience that actually leads to work. We’ve run three cohorts since — and the results speak for themselves.

Across those cohorts, participants made hundreds of cold professional contacts, ran live experiments, presented to mentors weekly, and produced CV-ready evidence of work. One participant scaled an online gaming marathon from one night to two, raised close to $2,000 on her own, and secured paid employment before the program ended.

In the past three months I worked in an agile environment, ran weekly sprints, managed a fundraising campaign start to finish, raised over $1,000 for charity, pitched 500 contacts across channels, launched an MVP and iterated, learned PPC marketing, and learned to think entrepreneurially and apply entrepreneurial theory. Participant CV summary · FutureXP cohort, 2021

That is the kind of CV evidence you’re typically asked to produce out of three years of university and rarely can. FutureXP produces it in 10 weeks.

Six graduates. Six different paths.

Real quotes from past cohort participants and the people who worked with them. Some kept building in the partner organisation. Some used FutureXP as a launchpad into something else. All of them left with proof.

J
Jack
Cohort 1 graduate

The AI Toolkit week alone was worth the seat. I went from copying answers to running agents in the background while I did the work that mattered.

N
Nour
Cohort 2 · Creative

The mentor in my second sprint pulled apart everything I’d built and helped me rebuild it twice as fast. I’d never had that kind of feedback before.

L
Liam
Cohort 2 graduate

I came in thinking I’d sit and learn. I left having shipped, pitched, failed, and shipped again. The stand-ups are what made it stick.

K
Kim
Parent of 2022 grad

For the first time in two years he had somewhere to be on a Monday morning. By week four he was talking like he had a plan. Worth every cent.

R
Reza
Cohort 1 graduate

University taught me how to write essays. FutureXP taught me how to ship. There’s no comparison between which one employers care about.

S
Sienna
Cohort 2 graduate

The four-payer model is what got me here. My TAFE sponsored my seat. I never could have paid $5K on my own and now I have a portfolio I can use to get a real job.

B
Ben
Partner-org sponsor

Our cohort participant shipped a tool we’d been talking about for a year. Eight weeks. We hired her the day she finished. Cheapest, best hire we’ve made.

D
Dani
Cohort 1 graduate

I was the kid no one expected to finish. The safe-to-fail rubric was the first time anyone graded me on whether I’d learned, not whether I’d got it right.

G
Greg
Mentor since 2021

As a mentor, I’ve sat through plenty of programs. This one is different because the participants are actually doing the work. Every Friday stand-up I learned something too.

$5,000. Four ways to pay.

FutureXP costs less than one university semester. Your degree got you a transcript. This gets you a track record. You can pay it yourself, your parents can pay it, an institution can sponsor you, or an employer can buy the seat.

Employer-sponsored

Mid-market employers can sponsor a seat (or a full cohort) and get first refusal on the graduates they want to hire. Cheaper than a recruiter.

Anchor · vs $15K-$25K recruiter fee per hire

If they’ve finished uni and they’re still in their room.

A note for parents

You’ve already spent $30K. Why is nothing happening?

Three years and a degree later, the labour market has changed and the job they were meant to walk into doesn’t exist any more. The problem isn’t them. It’s that the next step was supposed to be obvious, and it isn’t.

FutureXP gives them a structured 10 weeks to build the track record that employers actually look at: real project work for a real organisation, a portfolio of outputs they can show, references from people who saw them work, and the operating habits they’ll need for the rest of their career. It’s $5,000. That is less than one semester’s tuition.

What it gives them

  • A reason to leave the house each morning for 10 weeks
  • A real partner organisation backing their work
  • A mentor who’s done the thing
  • Outputs they can put on a CV
  • Referees who aren’t you
  • A working professional network

What it does for you

  • A defined path with a defined endpoint
  • A program that has government-validated outcomes
  • A cost less than another year of HECS debt with no plan
  • Payment plans if up-front is hard
  • Weekly visibility on what they’re actually doing
  • An honest pitch: no job guarantee, but a real shot

What the 10 weeks did for our family

Get 5 to 10 weeks of structured project work, free.

Partner orgs & employer sponsors

Trial talent before you hire them.

Bring us a real problem. Get a project team for the cost of mentor hours. Every FutureXP cohort needs 3-5 partner organisations to provide real briefs. In return, you get an enthusiastic 2-3 person project team working on your challenge for 5 to 10 weeks, supported by our mentor network. You provide the brief, one mentor, and the option to hire whoever you like at the end.

Best fit organisations

  • Growing businesses with project work and no junior bandwidth
  • Social enterprises with limited budgets and big ambitions
  • Non-profits with capacity gaps
  • Family offices with side-projects worth running
  • Regional councils with community projects

What you get back

  • 2-3 motivated young operators on a real brief for 5 weeks
  • A 10-week working trial before you hire
  • Weekly progress reports and stand-up access
  • Mentor cooperation on the brief itself
  • First-refusal hire on participants you liked
  • A documented case study to use in your own marketing

Things people always ask.

If your question isn’t here, the application form has a free-text field. Ask anything.

Which track should I pick?

Pick the track that matches the industry you want to work in next. If you care about cause-driven work, that’s Social Impact. If you’re a numbers person (finance, FinTech, or blockchain), Finance & FinTech. If you’re a storyteller, Creative & Media. If you want to shape how people learn, Education. The methodology is the same across all tracks. What changes is the partner organisations, the project briefs, and the mentor pool. Pick the world you want to build a network in.

Can I switch tracks during the program?

Not mid-cohort. Track assignment happens at application and is locked when you accept your seat, because we match you to a specific partner organisation early. If your career direction shifts after graduation, you’re welcome to do a second cohort in a different track. We discount second-cohort fees by 30%.

My industry isn’t listed. Can I still apply?

Yes. Tell us in the application what industry you want to work in. We’ll either match you to the closest existing track or, if there’s enough demand and the right partner organisations are available, spin up a new track. Recent requests we’ve had: ClimateTech, HealthTech, PropTech, Sports & Esports, AgTech. If you can name three companies you’d love to work for in your industry, we can probably find one to partner with.

Is there a job guarantee at the end?

No. Any program that guarantees a job is either overpromising or charging a lot more than $5K. What FutureXP promises is a materially higher likelihood of being employable: a real project portfolio, real references, real network, and the operating skills employers actually pay for. About half of pilot graduates secured paid work either during the program or within 60 days of finishing.

Who actually mentors me?

Working operators and founders from the network of Cameron Rambert (fractional CMO and program lead). Mentors are weighted heavily towards people who’ve actually built things, hired people, and shipped product. Career counsellors who’ve never worked outside education don’t make the cut.

What kind of partner organisations do you work with?

Real ones with real briefs. The 2021 pilot worked with Ingame Leader (an esports-based youth mental health non-profit) and Frankston Foundry. The 2026 productised version expands the pool: growing businesses, social enterprises, non-profits, family offices, regional councils. We screen partners as carefully as participants. The brief has to be real, scoped, and worth pursuing.

I’m 19 and just left school. Is this for me?

Yes. School leavers who don’t want to do a degree, or want to take a year between school and uni, are exactly the audience. FutureXP gives you a structured 10 weeks that produces a real CV and a real network, which is more than most first-year students get out of an entire year of uni. If you’re still deciding what to do, this is a useful detour.

I’ve been out of uni for two years and nothing’s working. Is this for me?

Yes, more so than for fresh school leavers. The stalled-graduate cohort is the audience this product was designed for. You already know the degree isn’t enough. You don’t need more theory, you need a structured environment to produce evidence of work and rebuild momentum.

What does the $5,000 actually pay for?

Ten weeks of program delivery, mentor honorariums, partner-org brokering, curriculum content (including the AI Adoption module), weekly stand-up facilitation, a midway and final showcase event, the certificate and references at the end, and ongoing alumni-network access. Payment plans are available over 5 or 10 months. Cash up front gets a $500 discount.

How is this different from a bootcamp?

Bootcamps teach a skill (coding, design, marketing). FutureXP teaches an operating posture across real work. You don’t leave knowing how to use Python. You leave knowing how to find a problem worth solving, scope it, ship something against it, and learn from what went wrong. The skill bootcamps teach is a thing on a CV. The skill FutureXP teaches is the thing that makes a CV interesting in the first place.

What if I can’t afford the $5,000?

Three options. (1) Payment plans over 5 or 10 months. (2) Talk to us about institution-sponsored seats. Each cohort holds a small number of fully-sponsored places for participants from regional, low-income, or otherwise underrepresented backgrounds. (3) Approach an employer in your target industry directly with a proposal. We’ll help you draft the pitch.

When does Cohort #4 actually run?

Applications open October 2026. Interviews November to December 2026. Cohort runs January to March 2027 (10 weeks). 8 to 12 seats, selection by interview, no FOMO needed. If Cohort #4 fills, Cohort #5 is May to July 2027.
